This is not just a blog.....

.... My name is Chandra Kumar Sundaran... and i know that this is just a small step..... to begin with my long journey..... and i will tell u later about my journey and the destination through this blog.......... and mind it ... this is not just an "another blog".......and am not doing this just to publicize or market myself or this blog.....

i like to quote an incident which happened when i was staying in Chennai.... i was standing in a bus stop near a famous shopping mall with my friends.... i saw an old man totally blinded with some disease begging for sugar cane juice from a shop......was just watching for more than 20 minutes... and he was still begging with his coconut shell... the shop guy got irritated and threw the coconut shell in a garbage waste close by........ the old man started weeping..

..... what i saw next was too disturbing....

He began to search the shell in the waste.......crying........ and the whole dump waste was filled with hospital and human waste... and i saw him digging in the waste for more than 15 minutes... i was standing helplessly... watching the old man in that waste...what is more disturbing is that no one around is bothering to see the man........after a min the bus came.. i boarded the bus...

The image of the old man searching for his coconut shell haunts me every now and then... i don't know why... i felt very bad that night.. couldn't sleep... i told this to my friend.. he didn't react and told me not to bother... he said..."don't be too emotional...sleep.."
.... emotional???....

Dear Mr.Chandra Kumar Sundaran,
What your friend has suggested you is exactly correct :) ..."don't be too emotional...sleep.."

Because your emotions are of no use...You said you were watching the whole scene for abt 20 mins !!! No no...More than 20 mins...rite!!!...Also, the old man totally blinded was searching for his coconut shell for more than 15 mins ...So totally 35 mins...no no..more than 35 mins :) ... What you learnt from this !!! ... learnt to watch patiently, how others are experiencing the poverty...

Whats the use...In this case, your friend is far better than you...because he is not at all watching these kinda scenes...

Confused !!!... If I were in your place, practically, I would have waited only a few secs( waiting is to understand the situation & not for thinking whether to help the old man or not :) ) & then I would have offered the old man the juice he wanted...
We may not be in a position to give shelter to that old man...We may not be an earning person...Doesn't matter...But I'm sure, we would be having some money in hand all the time...

I have only one doubt...The god gifted you a heart to work as a watchman for seeing these kinda scenes...Applause... But , Why didn't he give you the heart to help when you see the less- fortunate ppl ...
Here, I don't want to list all the things i have done so far & instead of writing here, I prefer doing something usefully...

What you are gonna loose by offering that man the juice he wanted...You don't need to give him shelter...Huh!!! You don't have the heart to offer him the 5 r.s juice he wanted...Then how'll you offer him the shelter even if you are rich (or if you become :) )...

"Don't be too emotional...sleep..."
Hope you will :) ...

& Hope you have the guts to let this comment remain in your blog...be prepared to face the criticisms when coming to public...

The another author- Mr.Arun kumar...
I know well about the sudan case & I hope most of us know that... Mr. Arun, instead of wasting time on this blog, why don't you help the less-fortunate ppl you are seeing in your day-to- day life...Unfortunately, if you come across a less-fortunate person by road-side,Offer one of your woolen coat( if you have any ), to help him escape from the bad-weather...or help a less-fortunate child to continue their education...or whenever you see anybody starving for food, get something from near by shops & offer them immediately...

Or If you think , these are all of no use!!! then better take a flight to SUDAN :)...

First help the ppl near by & then think about Sudan,Eden, etc...

hope you remember this- "A help in NEED is a Help Indeed"...

mmmm....wasted an hour in this blog :(...

people should learn to stop criticizing others. If he feels bad ok, thats what we would expect from a human being. If he had helped it would've been better. But don't go off criticizing people as if you yourself helps everytime you see someone in need. And just giving a person food for one day isnt going to solve the problem. If one is really passionate about making a difference, one needs to set some long term goals.
